The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 85 has purchased and is renovating a 10,000 square foot vacant building in the Manchester Neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This facility houses the company's office personnel and provides a venue for its meetings while still being open for use by the community at large. The purchase of this vacant building was accompanied by the purchase of five adjacent lots from the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh. These properties have been redeveloped and returned to the tax rolls, serving as a catalyst for the redevelopment of this blighted neighborhood. DTI managed this effort and was successful in securing $500,000 in RACP funds from the Commonwealth for the project.
